AQU Catalunya participates in the first face-to-face meeting of the REMOTE project this year
The Agency was part of the meeting, which took place last week at the University of Girona and in which the international partners of the project also participated.

Last week, AQU Catalunya took part in the first face-to-face meeting of the 2024 REMOTE project, led by the University of Girona (UdG) and in which five other partners are also participating alongside the Agency: The International University of Catalonia (UIC); the Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo), Italy; the Universidade do Minho (UMinho), Portugal; the Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del Sistema Universitario e della Ricerca (ANVUR), Italy; and the Portuguese Agência de Avaliação e Acreditação do Ensino Superior (A3ES).
Held at the Technical School of the University of Girona, the meeting was welcomed by Dr. Lluís Prats, director of the Department of Organisation, Business Management and Product Design of the University of Girona. Subsequently, the group tackled the first work package "Students and teacher questionnaire", led by Dr. Martí Casadesús. The next work package, called "In-depth interviews", featured a presentation by Dr. Pedro Teixeira (UMinho) and Dr. Paulo Sampaio (UMinho). The subsequent activity was a presentation by Dr. Frederic Marimon (UIC) and Dr. Marta Mas (UIC) in which they explained how the focus groups that follow the Delphi methodology will soon be organised. This activity was aimed solely at partners who are universities.
Following this, the project manager of the Quality Assessment Department of AQU Catalunya, Carme Edo, accompanied at the meeting by the project manager of this department, Noèlia Grifo, gave a presentation on the roll-out of the work package led by AQU, which is only just getting underway. This package proposes three activities that will focus on developing useful tools to deploy actions to improve distance teaching and assessment in the STEM field.
Finally, the working group held a benchmarking session focused on new ideas and future projects, among other issues. REMOTE, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is a project working within the framework of the Higher Education Cooperation Partnerships and has among its main objectives to provide, with the support of European quality assurance agencies, easy-to-apply and useful guidelines and benchmarks for implementing successful methodologies in distance assessment.
