AQU Catalunya’s Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) assesses institutions and degrees through specific assessment commissions (CEAs) for different fields of knowledge or subject areas. Universities required to submit official degree programmes for accreditation should refer to the Recognised degree programmes accreditation procedure, approved by the CAIP.
Before universities can begin the accreditation process for a degree programme, they must obtain approval from the AQU Catalunya Governing Board regarding the planning of the external visits that the Agency is to carry out the following year, based on the implementation schedule for the degree programmes due to start the accreditation process that year in Catalonia. AQU Catalunya will only carry out the accreditation process for external visits included in the annual scheduled.
